What a Smart Home Rescue Actually Is
A rescue is not a service call. A service call assumes the system was built correctly and something specific went wrong. A rescue assumes the system has structural problems — in the wiring, in the programming, in the equipment selection, or in all three — and that fixing one symptom without diagnosing the rest will leave the homeowner calling again in six months.

What a Rescue Engagement Covers
Every rescue starts with a structured diagnostic visit. We document what is in the home, what is working, what is not, and what is missing — source code, documentation, model-and-serial records, network credentials, and dealer accounts. From there we produce a written assessment with a scope of work and a fixed range.
Depending on the home, that scope can include any combination of the following:

What a Rescue Costs
A smart home rescue with HTS Systems can start at $1,000 and can reach as high as $25,000 or more, depending on the scope of rewiring, the amount of programming required, and the labor hours involved. Smaller engagements — a single misbehaving control system, a failed audio zone, a lighting processor swap — typically fall in the lower half of that range. Larger rescues involving multiple platforms, structural wiring corrections, or full system migrations land in the upper half.
We do not give a final price before the diagnostic visit. We have learned that any number quoted sight-unseen is either inflated to cover the unknowns or low enough to require change orders later. The diagnostic produces a real scope, and the real scope produces a real number.
